You are invited to a morning treat this Friday at Carroll Elementary starting at 7:30 am. We would like to celebrate your Motherhood and all you do for your child or children here at Carroll. Our third Parent University session is happening this Thursday, April 30th from 6 PM – 7:30 PM. I will be sharing some of the ways we are using technology in our classroom to redefine learning for the 21st Century. You’ll enjoy hearing from students about this new way of gaining and sharing knowledge. It’s just the beginning of many more amazing educational adventures for students in the digital age!
Hello Kindergarten Families and Friends.
I am looking forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday morning. I have so much to tell you and I want to hear all about your vacation time.
Thursday evening is a special event called Parent University from 6 PM – 7:30 PM. I will be sharing information about technology in the classroom. You will be able to hear how students are using devices, apps, and websites to enhance the learning process and develop 21st Century skills. The world is changing and it is my goal to help parents and students get on board this fast moving train of digital learning.
This is our last week on-track and it is full to the brim. We’ll be participating in a Mystery Number Google Hang-Out on Wednesday with a first grade class at Arlene Hein Elementary. We’ll test our number senses again on Thursday with a first grade class in Truckee. We will be asking and answering questions to find the Mystery Number. On Thursday and Friday, we will meet up with our Big Buddies to work in the garden. We have some weeding to do as well as sowing seeds for the next crop. What do you think we will be planting?
If you would like to participate with us, please let me know. We can always use another pair of hands. We would also welcome a donation of 2 bags of planting soil.:D

Our second Parent University is on March 26th. I hope you are considering attending. I have emailed you a flyer with more information.
Bingo Night is this Friday, March 20th from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Our PTA has a very fun night planned with some really great prizes.
I will not be in class this Wed-Fri. I will be attending a technology conference for teachers. I’ll miss my precious Kindergartners, but there’s so much more to learn. I want to be the best teacher possible for my students. Mrs. Noya (A-Track teacher) will be here in my place. I have no doubts that there will be lots of learning going on without me.

On Wednesday, we will conclude our 100th Day Celebration with a a special snack and even more special activities. I have planned a fun-filled day. Please consider spending the morning with us. There will be plenty to do to keep us all busy!
I have posted the dates and times that I am available for parent-teacher conferences. Look for the these sign-up sheets on the chart stand near our classroom door. I am looking forward to meeting with you again. Truly! It’s one of my favorite parts of being a teacher.
Dear Kindergarten Families,
I am so very sorry to announce that I am postponing our 100th Day Celebration. I have only received 10 of the 24 donations needed for our party. The donations were due by today so I could prepare our materials in advance. I cannot possibly do preparations during our party. If you do not remember what item was requested, please check your child’s backpack for the original note. If you don’t find it, I can look on my master list for you. If you are unable to provide that item, please let me know so I can find a suitable substitute. Our schedule is very full so we will try again with our party on Wednesday, March 11th. Classroom helpers will be most welcome.
OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Wednesday Feb 25th Permission slips and $5.oo donation are due. Half the class is ready to go. Please let me know if your child will NOT be going. I will have to cancel the trip if I do not receive completed permission slips from EVERY student. LATE ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

The Kindergarten classes will be having a Chinese New Year celebration on Thursday, February 19th. We would appreciate a $1.00 donation to cover the cost of the food we will be serving. Students will not need to bring a snack that day.
