Be sure to check out our “Class Video” tab so you can add some exceptional joy to your life. Our Olympic Day and Fun Run would not have been so safe and enjoyable without our generous parent volunteers. Thank you – Thank you – Thank you for making these events so successful. Enjoy the videos!
Our PTA is trying a new type of jog-a-thon fundraiser this year. We have partnered with The Fun Run team. They are on campus daily to manage prizes, pledges and continue to promote a healthy lifestyle. They have days dedicated to dance parties during recess, a time for students to be active and have fun. They have a website for easy pledge gathering, too. Go to www.CarrollFunRun.com and search for your child’s name to make a pledge. You can easily send the link to family and friends to request donations.
The main event will be on September 2nd. Our Fun Run time is 12:20 PM – 1:10 PM. Volunteers are needed to mark laps and hand out water. You can sign up on our Shutterfly site.
We are hoping to get 2-3 volunteers per teacher. If volunteers are willing/able to be of assistance during other run times, we would greatly appreciate the extra help.
***Starbucks coffee will be provided to all volunteers.***
Dearest TK Families,
Thank you for making our Olypmic Day such a tremendous event! Eleven parents from just our class were able to make time in their schedules to join in the fun. Wow! Many parents and siblings from other kindergarten classes were also on hand to set-up, clean-up and supervise the games. Volunteers help make it all happen! And if you see Mrs. Deming, be sure to thank her because she pulled it all together, including the spectacular decorations. If you took some good photos, please add them to our Shutterfly album for all of our families to see.
Our Olympic Day is almost here! It is this Friday, August 5th. Class time is 7:45 AM – 11:16 AM. The events will run from 8:45 AM – 11:00 AM. We will be joining the kindergarten classes in the quad for an Opening Ceremony and some fun competition. Please wear red, white, and blue and secure shoes for running, jumping and hopping!
We still need parent volunteers to make this event safe and enjoyable. You can sign up on Shutterfly through the Volunteer tab.
Our Wednesday Jog-a-Thon was a great deal of fun. We have a whole class full of enthusiastic runners. We all ran for a full ten minutes and nearly half the class wanted to keep going! We were cheered on and misted by parents and big kids. They even made a tunnel for us to run through. The full set of the photos will be uploaded to Shutterfly shortly. You won’t want to miss those pics!
So far our class has raised nearly $200! That’s very impressive, I’d say. But don’t feel left out if you forgot to turn in your envelope. There is still time to collect pledges and turn them.
Oh my goodness! How wonderful to see you all back at school. I really missed my 24 hugs a day while we were off-track. It seems that all my students were also happy to be back, too.
This past week we met our Third Grade Buddies from Mrs. Ghilain’s class. They helped us put together our own books. Then each student read the book with their buddy and got some tips on learning sight words. We had a little extra time so we enjoyed some “GoNoodle” silliness, too. (GoNoodle is a fun website for music and pe activities)
