The weather looks great for our walking trip to Franklin HS tomorrow morning. Class time is 7:45 AM – 11:16 AM. We will dismiss as soon as we get back. It will likely be close to 11:30 AM.
Chaperones need to be here by 9:00 AM. Please let me know TODAY if you will be attending. Chaperones must also pay $5.00 for their own ticket.
We will have a small Friendship Party during class on Tuesday, February 16th. This will be a time to share notes of friendship and treats with our 24 classmates. If you would like to help out, click on the Volunteer tab above to sign up.
We have rescheduled our trip to see Shrek, Jr. for Wednesday Feb 10th. Students do NOT need a new permission form. Chaperones DO need to confirm with Mrs. Noya and Mrs. Petuya. We understand if you are not able to attend.

Our guest blogger today is one of the sixth grade students in charge of the Pennies for Patients Fundraiser.
Good Afternoon Carroll Comets! My name is Sahra and I am one our your Pennies for Patients representatives. We have had a GREAT first week. In our first week, which was only 4 days long, we have raised $2,464.70. Give yourselves a HUGE round of applause.
Next week we will be selling wristbands on Monday for $2 on the outdoor stage. This will be your last chance to buy one until C-Track returns on February 1. The winning class will be announced at the end of the 4 week campaign.
Also, next week we will begin selling $5 raffle tickets for the Principal for a day. You can buy as many raffle tickets as you want. Your class representatives will give you more information and a flyer on Monday when they come to collect your donations. Remember ALL money raised goes to our school goal.
Lastly, our current classroom leaders are Ms. Burnat’s class with $154.64 and Mr. Stults’ class with $166.83.

Although the weather didn’t cooperate with our plans for the walking trip to Franklin HS, we had a fun day with a full room of friendly faces. Thank you to the brave parents who stayed with us for the morning. I will soon post photos of the day’s learning efforts.
I will be contacting FHS Theater Dept. to reschedule our trip. I will let you know what the new plan will be.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 19th! We will be walking to Franklin High School for a student theater production of Shrek! We will join Mrs. Noya’s class for this early morning event. There are limited spaces for chaperones so if you would like to volunteer, you must email me right away.
Permission slips and payments are due by this Friday, January 15th.

Cost is $5.00 per child or adult
Siblings may not attend.

Oh my goodness! The first Carroll Elementary Art Showcase was a stunning event. The MP room was transformed into a very special art gallery. There were watercolors, finger-painting, mixed media, charcoal drawings, tissue-paper collages, wire sculpture and yarn sculpture. Over 1,100 pieces of art were displayed. Ms. Haley Hauder, Mr. Hauder’s daughter, was able to design, organize, and provide age-appropriate art lessons to every student in our school with remarkable results. Special thanks go to the group of teachers that set-up the exhibition because that was quite an undertaking in itself. Thanks also to the Student Leadership Team that provided refreshments for visitors for such a low cost.

Please come to our very first art show on Thursday, December 10th. You will see art work from every student at Carroll Elementary. The MP room will become our art gallery. It will be open from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. We hope to see you there!
Oh my goodness! Our Trimester Celebration was a wonderful success. Our day was filled with games, prizes, face-painting, and yummy treats. It was a tremendous day because of you, dear families. Thank you to the following brave souls for spending the day with us: Miley’s mom, Michael’s mom and sister, Na’Mat’s sister, Isabella’s mom, Demarrie’s mom, brother and sister, Brianna’s aunt, and Justin’s mom. And thank you to the very long list of families who made donations of food, prizes, and game supplies. Your efforts are truly appreciated.

We have reached the end of our first Trimester! So, Mrs. Noya and I decided that we need a time to celebrate our success. On Thursday October 22nd all of our students will attend school from 7:45 AM – 11:16 AM. We’ll have tons of fun with games, treats, and fall-related activities.
