The district’s website for the Common Core is: http://blogs.egusd.net/ccss/
I encourage you also to view sample test questions at http://smarterbalanced.org/ The new testing regimen began in 2014-15. Students in grades 3-8 and grade 11 take the test online and it is quite rigorous.
Grades K-2 have implemented the CCSS Math Standards through a new curriculum called GoMath! The lessons and resources have helped the students focus on building strong skills in number sense and learning to explain their reasoning. Research shows that these are foundational skills for mastery of math concepts.
Elementary grades are also implementing the new CCSS English/Language Arts standards. The district has provided a curriculum called Wonders. District teachers are working together to adapt instruction to effectively move students into meeting the new standards. One feature we will emphasize is using specific details from the text to support every response. Students will be expected to do this verbally and in their writing.
