Bus Pass Application Process

Bus pass applications and payments will be processed through MySchoolBucks. Payments will not be taken over the phone.

Click the MySchoolBucks link to complete your bus pass application. After completing the bus pass application and selecting PURCHASE, you will be given the ability to check out as a guest or use an existing MSB account. General fees for various types of service can be found on the bus pass application.

After making your selection, you will be prompted to review, and then confirm your order. When confirming your order, you will be prompted to enter your first and last name and your e-mail address. Shortly after confirming your order, you will be sent an order confirmation via e-mail. The confirmation indicates that the bus pass application has been submitted. If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail from MySchoolBucks please resubmit your bus pass application.

Once submitted, your bus pass application will be put into a queue for review and processing by the EGUSD Department of Transportation. Fees, if required, will be calculated based on service needs of each student with consideration for any applicable fee waivers. If a fee is required, you will be invoiced by e-mail for the amount owed as soon as practicable. After receiving the invoice, you will be able to use the MySchoolBucks secure payment portal to process your payment.

Fee Waivers

In some cases, your students may be eligible for free transportation. As practicable, the EGUSD Department of Transportation will verify eligibility within our school database (SYNERGY) and/or the appropriate EGUSD Department in which records are kept. Transportation fees will be waived for pupils that meet eligibility requirements. Additional documentation for review, may be required to establish transportation fee waiver eligibility.

Fee waivers based on household income cannot be verified via intra-district communication. To receive a fee waiver based on household income, please contact EGUSD Food and Nutrition Services to obtain a current food service letter. The Food Service Letter will notate if a student qualifies for free or reduced lunch.

It is the parent(s) and/or guardian(s) responsibility to provide evidence that their student(s) qualify for free or reduced lunch to the EGUSD Department of Transportation.  Applications that require the review of a food service letter will not be processed until it can be verified that the student(s) on the application qualify for free or reduced lunch.

All required documents for verification can be e-mailed to transbus@egusd.net, you may also bring your documents to our office at 8421 Gerber Road, Sacramento, CA 95828.
