  1. What is “Home”?

The word “Home” means where you feel safe and comfortable. It is different from a house because for example let’s say I’m old and I have my own house. I wouldn’t say that’s my home because I would be all alone on my house. For now, my “home” is where I can be with my parents and my sister. I like that place because right there I feel loved, cared for, safe, and I belong in that place. I will be a constructional engineer and build a home close to my house for my parents and my little sister so I won’t feel sad without my family. When I’m older, I will not feel sad and lonely because I will have my family next to me. Another example could be the book called “Maniac Magee.” When his parents died, he felt very sad and lonely. He still felt sad even though he had to move with his aunt and uncle. The reason he still felt sad was because his aunt and uncle hated each other. They would do anything to get rid of each other. Eight years passed and still Jeffrey felt sad because aunt and uncle still hated each other. Until one day Jeffrey ran away while in a play in a chorus. He ran into the streets and never came back because nothing felt like his home since his beloved parents died.

  2. What does the word “home” mean, how is it different from a house, and where is the place you are most “at home”? Describe it.

To me the definition of home is a place where you feel welcomed, loved, appreciated, comfortable, safe, ect. Home is a place full of memories, good and bad. Sometimes, home isn’t a place, but a feeling. A certain person or certain people just makes everything feel right no matter where you are. No matter what place you live in with that person or with those people you still feel like it’s home.
On the other hand, a house is just a building that you live in, sleep, and maybe eat in. In my opinion, a house cannot be a home without special people, a special person, memories, and/or the feeling of being welcome. For example, in the book Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli, Magee did not feel welcome or loved in his house that he lived in with his aunt and uncle because he didn’t feel loved, appreciated, or welcomed. And without those feelings, there is no home, and that is the reason he ran away.
Also, the place where I most felt like home is anywhere I was with my family and my old school, Ethel I. Baker. That school felt like home because, I grew up with all of those people for 5 years. They’re like family and they’re always friendly (usually). Any where I lived with my family felt like home because, they make me feel safe, happy, and loved.
In conclusion, a home doesn’t have to be a house. It could be a feeling, a place full of memories, a place where you feel loved, or just a place where a certain person or certain people are with you.

  3. Whats a Home?

A home is a place where you are comfortable, a place that you love, a place where you feel safe. For example, in the book, Maniac Magee, a kid named Jeffrey lost his parents and became an orphan; he had to live with his aunt and uncle. They hated each other so they split everything in half and Jeffery felt like that wasn’t home. A home is different from a house because a house is just a building and a home is much more than that. A place where I feel at home is with my family because I am cared for, loved, and I feel safe with them. I feel like I’m at home with my family because they takes care of me, they provide me with what I need, and because I feel safe with them. A home is a place where you feel like you belong. What is a home to you?

  4. Home or House

The difference between a home and a house is that, in a home you feel welcomed and that is your home, it is where you would feel safe, welcomed, and where you belong. To me, a home is where you have relatives or anyone that cares about you and wants to be there for you. Something that I have special with my family, is that we all eat dinner together and that to me is a home where we all gather together and enjoy the evening as a family in our home. A house would be where you known the people who live there but you’re not really yourself.
In the story Maniac Magee, there’s a boy named Jeffrey and he had a home with his parents and it was also a place where he was loved. His parents had passed away when he was only three years old. He then moved to his Aunt Don and Uncle Dan’s house. There he didn’t feel safe with his aunt and uncle.

  5. Home sweet home
Home for me is where you grow up, when you feel where your loved, and when you feel safe. A home to me is in my uncle’s house in Los Angeles. I feel like home there because my dad gets to see his brother. We are always loved by family and their neighborhood is safe so we can play outside. His family is happy when they see us. We go to HollyWood, we go eat, and everywhere we go we always have a good time. For example, when I celebrated New Year’s Eve with my uncles’ and family members we waited until it was 2016, I felt loved by every family member. Also, every time we to Los Angles we go to the park or play soccer at his house with my cousins day or night when I’m there. I always feel safe. A house is different from a home because a house is a place where you sleep, eat or maybe just sit around. All in all a home is not just a house it’s where you feel like where you belong.

  6. HOME

I feel at home in my parents’ house because everyone in there is fun to be with. My dad is very needed in the house because me and my brother feel uncomfortable when he is gone. Also my mom every day makes sure that I eat and have the thing I need for the next day before I go to bed.

A home is where you know you belong and the people around you make you feel safe in many ways. For example I feel safe there because sometimes I can do whatever I want. Another way is sitting on the couch with mom and dad watching tv.

A house is very different from home. A house is a living space but a home is comfortable. All in all my parents’ house is my home.

  7. Home vs House

What does the word home mean to you? To me home is a place where you feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Home feels safe because you don’t have to worry about anything bad happening to you. Home feels comfortable because you can be yourself and you don’t have to worry about anyone judging you. Home is a place where you feel loved because people care about you and they are nice to you. Home is different from a house because a house is just a place that you are living in while a home is a place that means a lot to you. A house doesn’t make you feel safe and it feels like you don’t belong there. A place that feels like home to me is school. School feels like home because I can be myself and I feel loved. I feel loved because my class and my teacher love me for who I am and I can always rely on them to be there for me. As you can see, home to me is school and I belong there.

  8. What is Home?

What is home and what is a house? I think to be able to call a place home you have to feel safe, feel comfortable and feel loved. You can’t really call a house home unless you have memories and feel like you want to be there for a while. Also a house is just a place to live and get used to living there. You have to choose if it is good enough to be home or not. One place where I feel at home is at my grandma’s house because when my mom had me she was living with my grandma and that was the first house I lived in, and she is still living in that same house. I like that house a lot. I feel like I’m at home. I like that house because my grandma would let me go outside when I’m bored and she would take care of me when i was sick and it’s peaceful and quiet.

  9. What is Home?

Home, to me, is wherever my whole family is gathering together. It doesn’t have to be my sisters and parents. It can include uncles, aunts, and cousins. Even if we were having a gathering in a dumpster, it would still feel like home. It feels so much like home to me because when I am with my family, I feel accepted and loved, so it feels like home. A house has a major difference from a home, though. A house is something that is concrete: it’s a building, and it lacks emotional aspect. A home, however is more like an idea. A home can be anywhere, or anything. Your home can be a school desk. A train station. An airport. Or simply just your own house. Wherever you feel comfortable or simply at peace can be your home. A house is just a building that some people reside in. It doesn’t have any meaning at all. A house and a home are different in these ways. A home you can get attached to emotionally, and it gives you a notion of safety and love and acceptance. In fact, the poet Edgar A. Guest (an American poet) said this about a house and a home: “It takes a heap o livin’ in a house to make it a home.” In the long run, a home has a more emotional definition than a house.

  10. A Home or A House
A home and a house is very different than what you think. A home is where you feel safe, comfortable, and loved. But a house you don’t feel as safe, you can’t get as comfortable, and you don’t feel as loved. To begin with, a home makes you feel as safe as you can be. For example, my mom makes me feel that she’ll always be there for me, so I feel safe. In addition, a house makes you feel very comfortable. In my home, I feel that I can be me, but in a house I feel that I struggle to be myself. More importantly, at my home my family makes me feel loved and happy. In fact, my class and I are reading a novel, Maniac Magee, where after a boys’, Jeffrey Magee, parents die he’s forced to live with his aunt and uncle. Since Jeffrey’s aunt and uncle hate each other they split him up be. This made Jeffrey feel uncomfortable and not loved.
I feel comfortable in my home. But the most comfortable place is my living room. I believe that the living room is the most important place because that’s where my family spend the most the time together. When we spend time together it makes me feel loved and safe. All in all, I feel that the most comfortable place in my home is my living room.

  11. Difference between a Home and a House.
Do you know the difference between a home and a house? Houses and homes are very different.
To begin with is how a home is different to a house. Homes are where you are comfortable staying at. Homes are also where you sleep at and where you stay at. For example, I stay at my mom’s house and that’s my home, but I stay every other weekend I stay at my dad’s house which is my home too, but not my main home. It is my home because I stay there for three days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and I go back Sunday. Also a home is where you spend time with your family at dinner and you talk about your day and you have a family where you are loved.
Next, is how a house is different to a home. Houses or where you are less comfortable staying at. You only spend the night at houses are time. You don’t normally stay at houses you normally stay at homes. Another example is that I went to my grandma’s house yesterday and I didn’t don’t really feel comfortable there, I feel more comfortable at my mom’s house or my home.A house is where you eat, by yourself or your family scatters around and they don’t have a talk about their day at dinner.
All in all homes and houses are very different.

  12. My Home

What does the word home mean to you? To me it’s a shelter and a place where I belong. Sometimes it’s just when i’m having good fun with my family. If I was at a cousin’s house I would feel normal but say I go to a neighbor’s house, I would not feel comfortable. If not that then i’m probably not in my happy or satisfied zone. I guess for me being at home would be sitting in my room playing video games or something with my family. But most of all, the place I feel safe, respectful, and responsible is right in school!

  13. What is Home?

To me home is where I feel safe and comfortable and very happy to see my family. House is where I see my family getting along. House is Love and laughter. House is family night, movie night, and taco night. The reason I feel this way is because some people don’t appreciate their family and they regret it when their gone. Another reason I feel this way is because even though my family and I argue are bond is too tight to break it up. To me home is home, home feels like there is nothing there, it feels empty and dry feeling. I feel this way because when you’re at home you think about memories and remember all the good time you felt about your home now it’s just like home yay I guess but at your house you feel like OMG MY HOUSE YAY. Therefore I believe that home is a very safe place.

  14. What does home mean
If people live in the same house for more than a short stay, then they call it their “home”.
A house is a building that is made for people to live in.
My House is where I am most at home.

  15. Home Sweet Home
The word Home where you feel safe and comfortable. Let’s say that there is a woman and I had my own house and I had my own dog. A home is a place where you feel like you belong too. All houses are meant to be living in and grow up.

  16. Home or House
Have you ever thought about where you feel at home best? To me home is a place where I can relax and feel safe in. A home is where we should feel safe in, not worrying about something bad is going to happen. For example in the book Maniac Magee Jeffrey was an orphan ever since his parents died, he was three years old. He was sent to his Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan. They both care about Jeffery as much. The only thing they cared about was not talking to each other. So Jeffrey ran away. The way a home is different from a house is because a home is a place where you feel safe and comfortable. The place that I feel at home is my bedroom because it is quiet in there. Therefore that is where I feel most at home.

  17. Home or House
A home is like somewhere that you would like to be for the rest of your life kind of thing. A house is different from a home because a house is a place where you spend a night or to visit. For example my grandmother’s house feels like my own house I feel welcome there than my own house. At my house I have opportunities but, I have way more opportunities At my grandmother’s house. I want my own house to like home rather than my grandmother’s house. In conclusion that’s story.

  18. Difference Between A House And A Home

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between a house and a home? A house and a home are different in ways you probably never knew. A house is different from a home because a house is somewhere you stay. And a home is somewhere you feel best at. For example your uncle’s house, your cousin’s house, and your grandparent’s house. You probably think your house is just somewhere you live and think your grandparents house is somewhere you will always be welcome and feels like home. All in all by reading this paragraph I hope you know some differences between a house and a home.

  19. Difference Between a Home or a House

Have you ever thought about the differences between a home and a house? Well I have because in class we read a story called Maniac Magee which made me think about this question. In the story Jeffrey Magee is the main character that lost his home. His parents died in a crash of the P & W. He is staying at his Aunt Dot’s and Uncle Dan’s house. He had ran off after he tried to make the house a home at his school’s spring musical but he had failed. That made me think about what is the difference between a home and a house.
Home to me is a place where you know you belong. A place you know that will always stay in your heart. One place I know that I feel at home is at Prairie Elementary because I’m always treated nicely, everyone is friendly, and kind. Prairie Elementary is one place I will always remember. I think a house is a building you and your family can make a home. I feel like you can make it a home by spending a lot of time with your family doing activities that everyone enjoys. This is what I think the differences between a home and a house.

  20. Home Sweet Home
A home is where you feel safe, relaxed, appreciated, loved, welcomed, and comfortable. Let’s say that my friend and I share a house and I had my own dog. I wouldn’t feel lonely because I have someone to play with every day, and I also would feel comfortable and safe at our house. Home is a place full with memories, good or bad. A home is a place where you feel like you belong too. All houses are meant to be living in and grow up. A home is where you know you belong to and the people around you make you feel safe in many ways.

  21. Home

The word home means your house or it can mean something different from house. The word home is different from the word house because home can mean something more than a house. Home can be a place or somewhere where you feel comfortable, safe, where you feel loved, and where you think you belong there. It can be your parents house, your grandparents house, or your house, your friends or relatives house it could also be a restaurant, a school, a state, or a country. It can be anywhere you feel safe at. My home is my house: I feel safe and comfortable there because my parents are there, my big brother is there, and my dogs are there to protect me.

  22. A house or a home
A house is different than a home a house is somewhere where you live but don’t feel very comfortable and a home is somewhere you feel like you belong where safe to be. For example in my class we are reading a book called Maniac Magee it’s about a boy who was born with his parents in a home. Then his parents died so he had to `live with his aunt and uncle. When he lived there he felt that he was living in a house not a home. He did not feel comfortable because his aunt and uncle hated each other they did not talk to each other, but since they were catholic they did not want to get divorce. They did not want to share anything so they had two of everything like two bathrooms, two tv’s, two refrigerators. And since he did not feel comfortable he left his aunt and uncle’s house.

  23. My Home is Your House

There is a difference between a house and a home. Where do you feel comfortable? Whether is it at your house our, or at someone else’s house.

Home to me is a place where you feel safe and comfortable. If you don’t feel loved nor safe, then that’s not really a home where you can feel, and be yourself. I feel most at home at my house, my grandma’s house, my Tia’s house, and my house. I feel comfortable at my grandma’s house, because her house if filled with the smell of pine and flowers, we cook, we have fun while her husband is at work, and she has only two rules, don’t break anything and have fun. Her home is also loving and peaceful.

You can’t just call any place home. A home has to be a place that you feel welcome, let alone you should also feel loved.

  24. Homes and Houses

A home is where you feel comfortable, you feel like no one is going to harm you, where you feel loved. A house is where you might feel lonely, you could feel bored all the time, you probably have no one living with you. I live with my family so to me that’s a home but my Aunt and Uncle’s home is just a house to me. Even though I know them well I still don’t feel as comfortable compared to my home. I feel comfortable in my home because my family members live with me. What is a home to you?
