7th Grade Trip

7th Grade Trip

I can’t believe we are finally leaving elementary school. I had so many unforgettable memories. For example, I am never going to forget all the teachers that I had, especially Ms. Adams. Although I loved all the grades,  my favorite grade is sixth. Even though there were many challenges  I had so much fun. My worst challenge was writing our first essay, now that was a struggle because I never wrote a lengthy essay before. But as much as I had challenges I had lots of fun. My favorite moment was when I got to be in the geography bee.

SCRUMPTIOUS BUGS!

Have you ever wondered how bugs taste? This week we read an article, Bug Business, and I got the opportunity to try chile-lime crickets and a chocolate-covered superworm. While reading this article, I learned that we should incorporate insects in our diet because they are nutritious, they require less resources, and they are tasty. To begin with, bugs are nutritious. In fact, according to Megan Miller, co-founder of Bitty foods, “Insects have lots of protein, vitamins, fiber, and minerals.” In addition, bugs require less resources. For example, according to Jarod Goldin, the co-founder of Entomo Farm, to produce a pound of meat you need 2,000 gallons of water, but for a pound of bugs you would only need 1 gallon of water.” Finally, insects are very tasty. To explain, according to the co-founder of Bitty foods “a lot of insects taste like nuts.” All in all, bugs should replace some of the meat in our diet.

The Fertile Crescent

Fertile lands that supported productive farming led to development of Mesopotamia. Mesopotamians created canals to stop the floods. So, Mesopotamians are able to grow more crops. The more crops they grew, more people developed into Mesopotamia. All in all, the floods that led to more food is what led to development in Mesopotamia.

Hello world it’s Akila, #Kily.

It’s Kily here, and I will be telling you a little bit about myself. I have the best twin sister that I could ask for. First of all, I love the color pink. I have mainly pink clothes. Also my favorite subject is art, I would love to be an artist when I grow up. I love drawing or painting hearts. Drawing or painting heats help me remember to love my family members, even if some of them make me frustrated.  Another subject I love is writing, especially if I get to write freely or whatever I want. I love writing because this helps me express myself through what I write. Sometimes what I write has to do with something that I am dealing with in real life. Also I can be really creative while I am writing. Maybe, I could be a kid’s book writer when I grow up. Until next time readers,Bye.
