This month, Prairie Elementary is recognizing students who show the Very Important Character trait, respect. Which one of your classmates do you believe deserves the VIC award for respect? Write an argumentative paragraph explaining why he/she deserves the award.

I think a lot of people are respectful in our class, but I think Kareesh is the most respectful. For one, I have never heard her say a bad word to anyone. This makes her respectful because if she has never said a bad word to anyone, that means she respects everyone on campus. Another example of why Kareesh is respectful is because she sometimes picks up trash on campus. This makes her respectful because she wants her campus to be nice and clean. The final example of why she is respectful is because she always minds her own business and doesn’t try to snoop around. This makes her respectful because when someone doesn’t want her to know, she doesn’t beg to know, she just minds her own business. All in all, Kareesh is a very respectful person who respects her classmates, her campus, and her friends secrets.

A suggestion for refinement when editing: avoid using the same word twice in one sentence. Maybe instead of “I think a lot of people are respectful in our class, but I think…”, how about “A lot of my classmates are respectful, but I think Kareesh is the most respectful.” In your conclusion, could you reword “respectful person” so it doesn’t feel too repetitive? Also, rather than “this makes her respectful”, what verb could you use?
VIC-September
Although there are a lot of classmates that are respectful,I believe Ezequiel is the one that should receive VIC for this month. Ezequiel respects his classmates, his teacher, and our classroom. First of all, he respects his classmates by not being rude to others and he doesn’t laugh when someone doesn’t know how to do something. Next, Ezequiel he respects his teacher by not talking while she is speaking. Also he doesn’t talk back to the teacher. Finally, Ezequiel respects our classroom because he does not throw or kick our things around. He also does not take our materials without asking. Therefore Ezequiel
is the best choice to be VIC, at least that’s what I believe.
I think Payton should be Vic because he is very helpful all the time and whenever i ask him to help me out with anything he helps every with anything and anyone and he is a very funny person and he is the coolest and very nice every time they say Vic im going to pick him i have been is all his classroom and he’s mostly sarcastic with me when we’re roasting
I nominate Lizbeth because she is very respectful and a good friend. Lizbeth should be V.I.C. because she always nice to her friend and makes everybody happy and is never down. Lizbeth is very nice to Prairie West kids and I think she deserve V.I.C.. Lizbeth also deserve it because she never bad she always does her homework. Lizbeth is also so confident. All my classmates are all responsible but I chose Lizbeth.

I think Jose should be VIC because he never fights with all of us.The three reasons Jose should be VIC is because he never fights with nobody in campus.The second reason is because he picks up all the garbage in his sight.The third reason is because he always does his homework.Jose always does his homework in every grade and always respects school rules.All of these are my evidence why Jose should be president.
VIC- (Very Important Character)
I think that Kareesh should be VIC because she is a very nice person. She should be VIC because she is trustworthy, fair, kind, respectful, and responsible. When others are down Kareesh asks them what wrong and tries to do anything to help, if you tell her something she won’t go and gossip, and she doesn’t throw trash on the floor. Although most people in the class are respectful i think Kareesh is the most kindness.

I think Ryan should be VIC.I think he
should be VIC because when Ms.Adams ask us to be quiet he works on being quiet.He works on being quiet by telling his group to stop talking by giving them the peace sign. He also should be VIC because he is respectful to everybody. When people don’t have anybody to play with he plays with them. He also should be VIC because he is respectful to the custodians.When fruit or other food on the ground he picks it up and throws it away. I know I made a very good decision picking Ryan.
I believe Jodi should VIC. She should be VIC because she respects everyone by making sure everyone is okay. She also cheers people up by making them laugh when they are sad which means she is respectful to everyone if she cheers them up with jokes. She deserves to be VIC because she made me feel better when I was sad on Wednesday which means she really cares about me. As you can see, Jodi deserves to be VIC.

I think Ryan should be VIC and I will tell you why.
Ryan is always kind and respects all people. One reason why I think Ryan should be VIC is because he is polite to everyone including the yard duty and all children. Another reason is that he he respects the campus and never liters. The final reason why i think he always does his homework and does everything he’s told to do. I think Ryan and these reasons tell why.
I believe Emily should be our VIC for this months character trait.She deserves to be recognized because,she cleans up after herself. My first reason of why Emily should be VIC is because she will pick up trash and that means that she respects the school. Second is that she never argues with the teacher and respects her. Third reason I am voting for Emily is because she always respects her friends. This supports the for Emily being respectful because,she respects the campus by making it cleaner and look new. I choose Emily for my VIC. I chose Emily because she is kind and shares all the time and she always has a smile on her face. And she always has a cute bow in her hair like today its Sky Blue.
Emily is like a little sun. She is always happy and when she’s not happy she still tries to cheer up others. Emily shares without any problem,like for example when I need led she’ll give me some or she’ll let me use her eraser. And she always makes sure I have done my work because she’s our group leader.
I hope Emily wins VIC because she is very nice and a very good friend.\

I think that Ryan will make a good vic because he respects everyone in this class and he doesn’t fight with anybody and at recess he picks trash up and he plays with everyone who is just sitting and doing nothing ryan is very good at basketball and he is very respectful and if people say things about other he say to stop and if they don’t he tells on them and then they thanks him and become friends the three reasons are that he is very helpful and helps everyone who needs help with something because one day I need help and he came and help me, and he will play with you because when I was new he was the first person who play with me, and when you feel sad he will make you feel happy because one day I saw him make someone happy when they were crying he should be the new VIC.
I will choose Ezequiel because he is a smart kid he never gets in a fight he tells the truth.He never talks back to the teacher’s and the principal he does not get does not get sent to the office.When we give him something he always thank you.He is a nice kid to everybody he always plays with Emily,Jose,Jodi, and me.

I vote for Ezequiel because he is kind. He is kind by helping others and being nice to everyone. He cares about people and he is a great person to hang out with. He is a great friend and makes people feel better. He is a great person to be friends with. He always does his work. He respects others. He never forgets his homework. He never does mean things. He hangs out with me and more friends. He is a amazing kid.So this is why I chose him as V.I.C., so I hope he never stops being himself.

For VIC I chose Ezequiel. I chose Ezequiel because he cheers everybody up when they feel down. The next reason is he picks up the paper towels when there on the floor. I think the most person to be Vic is Jose.He is a big help to 6th grade.He always helps others when they need help. He has been a best friend to me.He is responsible and I trust him.Some mean kids might bully him and I stop the bullies.This proves Jose is a good person to nominate.Many examples of Jose’s character traits.And that’s why chose Jose to be VIC.

I nominate Ryan. I nominate Ryan because he is respectful to me, the campus, and his self. He respects me when I do things that makes him weird he doesn’t care. He respects his self when he gets mad he doesn’t threat to do things to his self like his brother. He respects the campus when there is a mess on campus he cleans it even though it wasn’t him. As you can see Ryan earns this V.I.C.

I think that Payton should be VIC. I think he should be VIC because he is always being polite, caring and kind to others. Payton will always look to see if anybody is hurt that is around him. If Payton sees a student that has nobody to play with he will play with them and ask if they are ok in the end. The examples are different ways he is being respectful.Therefore Payton is the right person the be VIC.
For VIC i am voting for Ezequiel he deserves to be VIC. I think that Ezequiel should be VIC because he respects his friends and i he is always respecting everyone. He is always respecting every rules. I know he is a respectful person because when he is eating a snack he always put his garbage in the trash. Also when he is eating he doesn’t take his food to the playground or walks around he sits and eats his snack. He is always respecting everything. Even though the whole class is respectful, i think that Ezequiel is the most respectful person in the class.f

I will like to nominate Ryan because he finishes his homework.He respect his teacher. He does his homework before he go plays anything else.
My reasoning that backs up my evidence is because I’ve seen him do his homework and go to recess and not owe recess. He respects his teacher by listening to her. He finishes his homework or cleans before playing.

Everyone in my class is respectful. I would like to nominate the very respectful in class. That would be Emani.
My first reason to nominate her is she is always help people when they need help. Always doing the right thing. Being responsible of what she’s doing. Always following the provided rules.
My second reason to nominate her is she always turn in her homework. Always make people happy when they are sad. Not owing recess everyday. Doing things right.
My last reason why im nominating Emani is that she always clean her desk. Never moved her magnet. Having good grades. Reading many good books and chapter books. Always take care of her brother. Deciding what’s right or wrong.

Everyone in my class is respectful but i will nominate Ryan. I would like to nominate Ryan because he respects his classmates and the teacher and there stuff. Whenever he ask to use any of my things he would respect it. He respects the teacher and likes the way the teacher does things.
