Parents – this is the 3rd attempt at completing HW 13-3. Please help your child review this tonight. It is a reteach page with just a few problems. They should also have their class lesson to review HOW to do it. I was disappointed how many students did not complete last night’s hw since they also had time in class. Only 8 students turned it in. Kuddos to them! Please remember that you can also logon to Think Central to view the book pages if your child left it at school. Thanks for your help in making sure they stay focused these last few weeks of school.

Math Homework and Extra Practice
Posted onFor the students who did not attend school today, please remember you are still accountable for the hw. You can print out the math assignment from home by going to Think Central under My Library. The Standards Practice Book has the hw page needed. Also, if you are looking for extra practice you can find Ch 10 skills under the animated math models. This has some instruction, practice, and a mini assessment which makes a great 10 minute review. There are also fun games under Mega Math. All you need to log in is your student ID and the password is school. Let’s take our test tomorrow so we don’t forget everything over our fabulous holiday break! 🙂
Math Homework
Posted onThank you parents for all the questions and comments on hw papers and via email. It seems that you are not alone! MANY parents had questions regarding last night’s math homework. That is probably because it is not the way you learned how to do multiplication. Welcome to GoMath! 🙂 I spent time reteaching it to the students today and they will be coming home with an example on their homework paper. See number 1. The HOT problems were the toughest because it required you to think about the process backwords. We also reviewed this today and students seemed more confident. I am sending home another night of the same skill in hopes that everyone can master it with a little more practice. Good luck!
Reading Logs
Posted onReading logs are assigned nightly. Students are to write a summary of what they read during the 20 assigned minutes. These are due every 2 weeks and part of their ELA grade. Parent signatures should be on every log so that I know you held your child accountable for their reading and writing time. Our first one was due and I am saddened at how many students did NOT turn one in. 🙁
Huge thanks to…Eduardo, Ashley, Dayanara, Sarah, Jacqueline, Kevin, AB, Ashneet, and Anaih. Way to go guys – you are keeping that ELA grade up!
Find Homework Here!
Posted onThanks to parent input, I have added a page where the daily homework can be found. At the top of the blog near contact info and Important Dates, you will find the HW page. I will post daily homework for the week as it is assigned. This feature is for parents and students who have early dismissals or are absent. Students will still be expected to write in their agenda daily. This is an important study skill they must have as an intermediate student and I do not want them to rely solely on the blog. This blog is a work in progress as it is my first attempt at creating one. I truly appreciate parent feedback on how I can improve it and make it more useful for you. Thank you.
