Testing

May is quickly approaching and we will soon be doing our annual state testing. Please do your best to have your child present so that he/she does not have to complete make-ups at another time, possibly with another teacher. We encourage the best possible testing environment. CST – Time to Test!

Posted on

It’s that time – CST Testing is here! This week (May 6th) we will do some practice testing. Next week we officially start our English Language Arts tests and the following week we will test Math. No testing will take place on Mondays or Fridays, or in the afternoons. On testing days, please be sure your child is well rested, takes the time to eat a healthy breakfast, and is on-time. Try to make the morning a positive one and encourage them to do their best. I will be sending home a snack sign-up sheet. Thank you in advance for anything you can contribute.  Lastly, many parents have asked about at-home practice. Please review the links on the right side of this blog. Your child can access practice questions there. If there are any other questions, just let me know.

Math Re-Do’s

Posted on

Students are receiving their Ch 2 Multiple Choice Math Test today. Parents, please review this and sign it before returning it. If a student received an A or a B, re-do’s are optional. Any student receiving a C, D, or F, is expected to re-do the problems they missed and explain why they missed it. They should not just say they marked the wrong answer. It should say something like they forgot to regroup, they subtracted wrong in the tens place, etc.. Please help your child with this at home as they most likely need the extra support. This is an opportunity for students to LEARN from their mistakes and also to earn back partial credit to help boost their grade. All tests are due on or before Friday, September 21st.
