Did you know that your child is exposed to a different fruit or vegetable each month to taste? We call this Harvest of the Month. Last month we tried green beans and today we tried zucchini. We tossed some grape tomatoes in Italian dressing then placed it on top of our zucchini slices to make ladybugs on a leaf. Many students are discovering they actually like some fruits and vegetables they thought they disliked or have never tried. Try adding these to your shopping list, or try finding other ways to prepare them. Today we talked about zucchini bread, adding it to lasagna or pasta, and even grilling with some seasoning. The students took a pledge to be more conscientious about their food choices. We are all striving for those 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies every day. Healthy bodies give us healthy minds which results in learning success!

Online Reading Material FREE!
Posted onI’ve heard many kids share that they do not have access to reading material at home, or that it is limited. Your kids should be reading 20 minutes every night and they need access to a variety of literature. I have found a program called getepic.com. Your child will have access to hundreds of stories. The best part is that I can see how many minutes they read and how many books they finished. Some of the books might even transfer onto a test for their AR score. They just need to double check through AR Bookfinder to make sure it is their level and that it has a test. Ready to get started? Here’s how…
