Iready Pass Off

Posted on

Have you heard about our latest schoolwide contest? I spoke with many of you at conferences about your child’s reading and math levels based on their individual assessment on the iready computer program. I encouraged many of you to have your child play nightly. Remember, if you do not have computer access, visit the library or a family member who does. Here is the info…

The Great i-ready PASS OFF has been extended to Wednesday, February 11. There will be an extra recess for all students who have already met the criteria. At the end of the contest, there will be a special recognition and reward. The top winner will receive a Kindle!
K, 1, 2 – Pass 5 lessons in math and 5 lessons in reading.
3,4,5,6 – Pass 10 lessons in math and 10 lessons in reading.
Good Luck!

The students who have met this goal SO FAR and will earn an extra recess are

Elden
Jesse
Ayoush

Congrats! Let’s get some more kiddos on this list! Remember, it’s not just lessons completed, but lessons PASSED!!

AR Points

Posted on

We started the Accelerated Reader program and students have had about 2 months to read and test on books within their level. If they tested on a library book a week they should have close to 8 points at a minimum. To kick off the New Year and motivate them to keep working this trimester, I worked with Mrs. Garcia to provide rewards to any students who reached the 5 point first goal.

Congratulations to Raquel, Owen, Clement and Yusuf!

Please check in with your child to make sure they are reading their weekly library book AND testing on it. Remember you have online parent access to the AR program so that you can continue to monitor your child’s progress. This is a part of their reading grade so I’ve already discussed with students the importance of keeping up with their points. Thanks for your help with this!
