For the students who did not attend school today, please remember you are still accountable for the hw. You can print out the math assignment from home by going to Think Central under My Library. The Standards Practice Book has the hw page needed. Also, if you are looking for extra practice you can find Ch 10 skills under the animated math models. This has some instruction, practice, and a mini assessment which makes a great 10 minute review. There are also fun games under Mega Math. All you need to log in is your student ID and the password is school. Let’s take our test tomorrow so we don’t forget everything over our fabulous holiday break! 🙂

Emergencies and Text Reminders
Posted onIn light of our impending weather concerns and for fast communication during any emergency, I once again invite everyone to sign up for my text reminders. In a situation where telephones and computers are down, I can use my personal cell phone to send updates regarding your child. I currently have 4 subscribers, and I’m hoping more of you will take advantage of this great resource. Of course standard rates apply. To sign up, simply text @yanez4 to the number 81010. No replies are allowed so you will not receive additional texts from other parents. Can’t wait to endure the storm with my students tomorrow. School is indeed in session.
New this Trimester
Posted onWelcome to Trimester 2!
Now that the students have adjusted to life in 4th grade, I have some new skills for them to practice.
Reading Log – In Trimester 1 the students did their nightly reading for 20 minutes. This trimester, they will be accountable for documenting their reading with writing through a nightly reading log. You will see the first one come home tonight. This WILL be part of their ELA grade.
3 Subject Notebook – We are working on multiple skills and this supply is needed. Please plan to provide one for your child as soon as possible. If this is a hardship, please email me asap and I will purchase one on their behalf with my own funds.
Looking forward to an educational and fun trimester 2! 🙂
