Today your child is coming home with a FREE helmet thanks to a partnership with UC Davis and Kohl’s Cares. Students from the CSUS nursing program came to our class to present the importance of helmet safety. They individually fit your child for a proper helmet and they will be coming home with it today! 🙂 Please encourage your child to wear a helmet EVERY time they are riding a bike, skateboarding, riding a scooter, or any other activity that might require them to protect their brain.

Math Homework
Posted onThank you parents for all the questions and comments on hw papers and via email. It seems that you are not alone! MANY parents had questions regarding last night’s math homework. That is probably because it is not the way you learned how to do multiplication. Welcome to GoMath! 🙂 I spent time reteaching it to the students today and they will be coming home with an example on their homework paper. See number 1. The HOT problems were the toughest because it required you to think about the process backwords. We also reviewed this today and students seemed more confident. I am sending home another night of the same skill in hopes that everyone can master it with a little more practice. Good luck!
Red Ribbon Week
Posted onThis week is Red Ribbon Week which means we have been doing lots of activities and having great discussions about leading substance free lives. Please use this opportunity to have your own discussions at home with your children. Start by asking them what we’ve done in class and take that as an opportunity to add your own thoughts, stories, expectations, etc.. Good luck with a good talk! 🙂
Community Giving
Posted onYou may have heard your child talking about contributing to one of our newest community campaigns. There are 3 different optional opportunities for each student to participate.
1. Socks for the Homeless
Help the homeless keep dry feet this winter by donating a pair of new socks (any size ok).
2. Kids Can
We need cans or boxes of non-perishable food. Help us provide the homeless with some meals over the holidays.
3. UNICEF
Those trick-or-treaters can take a donation box with them and earn money for UNICEF. Any money we earn goes to a country that needs clean water, food, school supplies, and even immunizations.
Thanks to everyone for your consideration
