In early November I sent home a note regarding your child’s Mission Project. I am attaching the note on the blog for online access. Please see under our projects tab. We already have many students who have turned in extra credit! It’s not too late! All extra credit is due by Feb. 1st! Your child is still working on their newsletter in computers and will probably complete it by the end of February.

Today your child is bringing home book order forms with some great upcoming holiday book choices at reasonable prices. Orders are due by Friday, February 1st. See below for online ordering instructions. Or you can send in the order with a check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs and I will place the order for you. 🙂

This school year, when you send your child’s Scholastic Book Club order to me online, our class earns $3 for FREE books for our classroom library.  If you use the online site, you will also be able to find books within your child’s AR (Accelerated Reader) level. That way you know you are selecting books appropriate for their current reading level. You simply put in your child’s level and it shows you book recommendations to choose from. Please refer to the separate note on AR to find your child’s level. Your child should also know their level.

 Children must be able to read well to be successful in life. Studies show when children pick up their own books, their motivation and academic success improve. Help create a literature rich environment at home with books they love!
