Following Japan’s bombing of Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, putting into motion the┬áremoval of citizens of Japanese heritage from the West Coast. Virtually overnight, the lives of thousands of citizens – and the communities from which they were taken – were forever changed. The resources below provide a window into the internment/incarceration experience as well as the post-war experience. The resources also stand as a tribute to the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and hardships.
