The outlands is about a destroyed post-apocalyptic world. It is mostly desert and nothingness. Multiple asteroids hit earth, wiping out almost all life. They took out the oceans as well. The asteroids had radiation so those who did not die in the explosion got mutated into creatures. Animals and humans. Some animals got bigger and some got new body parts. Scientists discovered the asteroids before they hit and realized they could do nothing to stop them all because they were too big. So instead of using resources to destroy them they spent all the resources to build domes. Only 4 were built and each one has at least 1 million people in each. Communication with other domes was difficult but they managed to find a way and they helped each other out. Each dome is ruled differently. They were each ruled by a government but some of the domes changed in the way of ruling. 2 of the domes are ruled by kings and 2 are ruled by a government. Each dome is around 30,000 mi² wide and 2000 ft high. Each dome has a garbage disposal area. You dump your trash in then it opens on the outside and let it get ravaged by the creatures outside. Then it closes and gets sent back in so you can dump trash in it all over again. If a creature is still in there they kill it. There are multiple doors around the dome that lead to the outside that can only be opened from the inside. There is no way they can be opened from the outside. We will be focused on the one made in North america. In the one in north america it is ruled by 2 kings. Someone took over the dome a while back and made it into his own kingdom. After a revolt he realized he could not control the entire dome so he gave half the dome to his general and split the dome. It has been 317 years since the earth was struck and 100 years since the kings took over. In this dome there are rules that need to be followed. If you break the rules then you get sent out of the dome. You get enough food and water to last you 2 days. After that is all up to you. After a little revolt happened they were all caught and they were sent outside the dome. They found some caves. Some caves had creatures but some were empty. Each cave has a distance from the other but they are close enough. They decided to set up camp there. There are 5 caves. Now if anyone is sent out and they manage to find someone they bring them to the closest cave if they weren’t eaten by a creature. They don’t go into the cities because they are full of human mutants. They built their own little society. They survive by having little gardens in the caves and ravaging the dump. They each have a job. Some of them go out and explore areas to get more equipment or other stuff. Most die out there but they have to go to get supplies to build weapons and tiny houses and reinforce the caves. There are 5 caves but each is different. 2 of them can grow food, 2 of them have cave pools, and another has coal they mine to make fires. They created a trade route with each other. Another place was created. They call it the city of thieves. Most people refuse to live like the others so they spend their time stealing from trade routes and taking it back to their base. A little town was made into a place where all the thieves go.
