The EGUSD Safe Routes to School Program can provide assistance to help make travel to and from your school safer through:

  • On-site traffic observations
  • Organization of “Walk Audits,” a formal, multi-stakeholder review of transportation infrastructure around school sites
  • School safety assemblies
  • Provision of school-site data on injuries and mode of transportation rates
  • Training for Walking School Bus leaders
  • Coordination of bike helmet safety education
  • Assistance with encouragement and education events like Walk to School Day, Bike to School Day, bike rodeos, and Active4me setup
