May is National Bike Month and Bike and Roll to School Day is an important part of the campaign to increase active transportation. On this day, students and families are encouraged to strap on their bike helmets and ride to school.

Many schools organize special welcome stations for bikers, decorate their bike racks, ask special guests to bike with students, and hold events like “bike rodeos” that teach students on-bike safety skills.
