In “The Journal of Wong Ming-Chung” pages 430 to 432 introduces the story of a Chinese immagrant searching for gold with his uncle. This story takes place outside of San Fransico but they end up moving to Sacramento after their claim was stolen by a mob of bullies. During this move Uncle becomes angry and dissapointed that they are waisting their time building levees so he says some mean, hurtful things and leaves the group along with his nephew Wong-Ming Chung. He knew that if he left the company he could by out there by himself. Dispite the words Wong had heard his uncle say to him, he felt that Uncle was family in need and decided to go help him.
