Place an object following the Rule of Thirds and fill the blank area to balance out the picture.

Have lines in your picture which will pull your audience’s eyes into the “journey.”

Have symmetry and patterns as well as objects that “break” it, creating tension and a focal point.
- Viewpoint
Consider taking your photo from a different angle or height.
- Background
Have a background which does not distract from the subject.
- Depth
Create depth by having a foreground, middle ground, and background.
- Framing
Have objects around your focal point which can help focus the subject.
- Cropping
Crop out “noisy” backgrounds which can distract from the main subject.
- Experimentation
Try new ideas, you can always delete the ones that don’t work.
