Poem

I am from toy cars, from food an family. I am from the quiet, relaxed home. I am from the fruit trees and freshly cut grass. I am from visiting my grandparents and black hair, from Tony and Sonny and Hannah. I am from sarcastic responses and thinking things through. From “Do your best” and “Get good grades.” I’m from everything exists for a reason and respect your elders. I’m from San Jose and Vietnam, vegetables and rice. From the time Kim went off to college, and the moment when Laurence was born. I am from the box in the cabinet, containing priceless amounts of memories that remind us all of the past.
