TRIP: SONOMA STATE & UC DAVIS
After the long drive to Sonoma State, the junior and senior class were able to meet with the president of Sonoma State as well as an Elk Grove High Alum, Sid. They were given the chance to explore the campus before heading to UC Davis. At UC Davis, the upperclassmen walked the campus and were able to talk to Kyle, an alumnus of TDA!
TRIP: THE CRUCIBLE
The TDA sophomore and junior class along with the TDA English teachers took a trip to Sacramento Theatre Company. The TDA classes watched “The Crucible” with other schools. All of the students ate lunch together after the play and got to talk with each other about school and the play. After the play, TDA were able to meet other students from other schools.
MAP YOUR FUTURE
Elk Grove High School students were able to talk to parents about the TDA program. Students & parents that came to the event learned about events held in TDA and projects they would be doing if they join TDA.
GUEST SPEAKER: ART CENTER
A speaker from Art Center came in to speak to TDA sophomores about opportunities at the art school. The speaker explained different areas of study and how the school works, being an art school and not a regular university or state school.
GUEST SPEAKER: TREVOR FERRUGGIA
Trevor came in and spoke with the TDA classes about his career in package design. His presentation helped TDA graphic design students get some ideas about career choices and where to focus their skills.
MENTOR TRIP: CROCKER ART MUSEUM
Juniors and Freshmen went to the Crocker Alt Museum to see their exhibits and then went to Chicago Fire to grab a bite to eat. After that, all of the students got to roam around Midtown to see the beautiful murals & explore the city.
MENTORING: SENIOR/SOPHOMORE LUNCHEON
Senior mentors had lunch with their Sophomores and talked about everything from life to school! They enjoyed food from Nopalitos while getting to know each other.
MOVIE NIGHT
TDA students came together for the October movie night to watch World War Z! Many students pa1ticipated in the costume contest and a friendly game of musical chairs.
