The Elk Grove Unified School District adopted California Science by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill for Kindergarten.  We will be learning about what Plants need, parts of plants, and how they grow, what Animals need, and the different types of animals in Life Science. We will be discovering Earth’s characteristics, resources, recycling and reusing, and weather in our Earth Science Unit. Our third unit will be spent exploring matter and investigating water in the Physical Science Unit. 

As a district, we will also be stressing the need for making healthy food choices and will need your help with that.  Please send your child to school with healthy snack choices. For birthdays we would like to stay away from sugary treats like cupcakes.  Fruit salad, yogurt or non-food treats for the students are nice and healthy ways to celebrate birthdays at school.
