On a clear, crisp night when the stars shone brighter than diamonds, the queen of the Nether and the king of the Ether stood together. Ready to be wished upon, the stars twinkled graciously. Together, they wished for the two dimensions that had ripped apart their universe at the very seams to again be one.
Above the fiery underground of the earth was the light and airy Ether. It is full of life and happiness, iridescent water endlessly cascading into a bottomless gorge. Its counterpart, the Nether, was a hellish place. Lakes and rivers of molten magma pulsate through the thick film darkness that shrouds the horrors beneath its surface.
Between both realities, a single life form delved in the harsh, cold environment of the Mid-lands. The Mid-lands are a frozen wasteland that suited but only one race of creatures— the gryphons.
Gryphons had the wings and head of an eagle, the torso and front legs of a lion, and the hindquarters of a horse. Crescent Wing, a young twelve-year-old gryphon, was left to die in the Mid-lands after her mother, Nyx the Eternal, had abandoned her there.
Even for the gryphons, the weather became much too harsh. The vast majority of their population migrated to the Ether above. The ones who had stayed found that food was scarce, and thus, a famine struck. Most starved to death, others died of hypothermia, from lack of shelter.
Crescent, unlike many other gryphons, had a soul that pumped with the fiery determination for revenge. Revenge against her cruel mother, of course. And also, the hope that she could fix her world and make it better for everybody. But for now, she sits quietly at the edge of a serene pond, right in the middle of an intense hurricane.

That’s cool. -Jasmine W.
I love your story. It’s nice but also really dark.
Thank you. That’s how it’s meant to be.
What a cool illustration of Crescent Wing! I’d love to learn how you created the image.
This is an amazing story plot. I imagine this as a best-seller novel.
Thank you!
You don’t know the title yet? Do you mind if I give you some ideas? (When I do get ideas.)
