Servant of Two Masters opens tomorrow, and we would like to re-introduce you to our “Theater Uncle.” Romyl has been with Wolfpack Theater since the very beginning, but it has been six years since he has directed with us.
Romyl Mabanta is an Elk Grove native who returns to COHS/EPMS after directing its inaugural show in 2008 (Play On!) and coached several others. He currently works at the Sacramento Theatre Company where he recently directed The Taming of the Shrew. As an actor, director, instructor and coach, Romyl has worked at Santa Cruz Shakespeare, La Jolla Playhouse, Montana Shakespeare Company, Grandstreet Theater, Pushcart Players, ArtsBridge America, ChungDahm Seoul and the Contemporary American Theater Festival. He holds BAs from UCSD, an MFA from UD-PTTP and counseling/student affairs certification from Columbia University. Romyl has worked with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Old Vic, Deutsches Theater Berlin, El Teatro Campesino, Suzuki Company of Toga, Roy Hart Theatre of France, Decroux Mime and the Linklater Center.
