IMSC is a program of Iu-Mien Community Services where a group of volunteers organize a student conference for Mien youth to encourage college education, leadership skills, and cultural preservation.
In addition, Iu-Mien Community Services gives out a handful of scholarships each year. The Food Faire is just one of their fundraising efforts to fund the conference and scholarships. They will be selling Mien food, and recognizing two of their scholarship recipients:
- Lily Saephanh from Sacramento, Health Scholarship Award
- Kathryn Lee from Yuba City, Hero Artist Scholarship
