Cesar Chavez– Cesar was a very interesting person. I find him being an activist because he changed society in a positive way. He fought for better working conditions for farm workers. He went on many strikes, didn’t eat for a long period of time, and he gave many people hope. Personally i look up to him because he didn’t a lot for his race and for farm workers everywhere.
Red Cloud- He fought for his land. The us was trying to take over his native land, he fought for it because it was originally his land. He has every right to own and be on the land he was on. He was against the construction of a road between Wyoming and Montana for two years. He refused to sign several treaties with the US about his territory. He traveled to Washington DC, and New York just to fight for his territory. Later he finally won.
Nelson Mandela- Nelson was the first black president in South Africa. He is a sign of global peacemaker, in fact he won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. He was involved in anti-apartheid movement when he was his 20s. He directed a campaign that was non violent. He was in a group called African Nation Congress youth League. There plan was to get ANC to spread rapidly all over the place. Mandela and 150 people were arrested and were charged with treason for their political advocacy.
