Hello to Mr. Swett’s former 4th graders!
This is a beautiful project and I look forward to sharing with other California classrooms!
Mr. Swett I can’t beleve you kept our old voice threads of our missions.
I remember making my mission over the December break and our voice threads.
I didn’t know you still had our missions on your blog.
I learned that San Diego de Alcala was the first of 21 california missions. The priest in charge of the mission was father junipero serra. The mission was destroyed by a riot of indians who burned down the mission, and murdered father jayme. the mission was rebuilt and is now used as a parish cchurch and as a mueseum for tourist.
I think that all of the mission reports ar great 🙂 🙂 and now MR. Swett is my Great Teacher
I learned that San Fracisco Solano was founded in July 1823. It was the 21st mission, and it was founded by Padre Jose Altimira.
I leared that San Deigo de Alcala was the first of the 21st missions in California.
I learned that Santa Barbara was the tenth mission built. It was deestoyed by an earthquake. It was rebuilt in1925. It is used as a musuem and a church.
I learned when Mission San Carlos was built. It was founded at the date of June 3,1770. The founder of this mission is Father Junipero Serra. The nickname for this mission is “Father of the Alta California mission”
I Learned that Fr.Serra was buried in the sanctuary beside the alter in the adobe church next to his long time friend Fr. Crespi. San Carlos Borromeo was the very second mision ever built.
I like to listen to the Voice Thread, and I learned a lot about the churches.
