Formative Assessment Tool for Teachers
Formative Assessment are a way for teachers to ensure that thier students are learning and demonstrating proficiency at meeting the standards they will be tested on for CSTs.
They are not used to assign a grade. They are used to INFORM TEACHER AND STUDENTS of progress towards standards and GUIDE INSTRUCTION
Formative assessments are delivered frequently and the information/data gathered gives the teacher timely feedback on student mastery or struggles of currently taught standards. This timely feeback (reports available the next day) allows the teacher to immediately reteach a misunderstood topic and adjust pacing and instruction to meet the needs of their students and their learning.
