Bugs The Food of The Future
Have you ever thought about eating bugs? Well I have with my classmates. In class we read a TFK article that is called Bug Business which is about why we should add bugs into our diet. The article convinced my class to try bugs ourselves; the bugs I ate were chile-lime crickets, chocolate-covered superworm, spicy superworm. I think bugs should be added to our diet because they are easy to care for, healthy for your body, and tasty. First of all bugs are easy to care for. For example Jarrod Goldin, a cofounder of Entomo Farms, had said “To produce one pound of meat protein, you need approximately 2,000 gallons of water. With crickets, one pound of protein requires just one gallon of water.” He had also said “insects can be fed food waste, and need a lot less space than cattle and pigs.” Secondly bugs are healthy for your body. In the text it had said that bugs are healthy for your body because they’re packed with protein, vitamins, fiber, and minerals. Finally bugs are tasty. I know that they are tasty because most of the world is already eating bug so maybe we could adapt to. In the article Megan Miller had stated that “Crickets taste like nuts.” By reading this article I think bugs should be added to our diet.
