Master Sergeant Garcia, a teacher at Valley High School in the Elk Grove Unified School District, was nominated as Entravision’s next spotlight teacher. The recognition came through the Thank a Teacher Program that the company, Entravision, holds each year. Entravision, a large media company with a vision to advocate for and connect with Latinos in the U.S, hosts the Thank a Teacher Program to recognize teachers for the great work they do.
For the program, students and parents nominate outstanding and inspirational teachers they think should be recognized for their amazing work. This year, Rudy Garcia was nominated by his former students and families of students for the exemplary job he does as a teacher at Valley High School.
The Thank a Teacher Program, not only sheds light on some of the hard-working teachers in the community like Master Sergeant Garcia, but also helps recognize their commitment and achievements with a $200 gift card, a recognition breakfast, and the chance to win $1,000.
