Crows are often misunderstood, and we want to set the record straight.

So what do you think about crows?  Do you have some stories to share with us? Please add a comment or two.

  1. I have a few thoughts about crows… I think they are the “bully” of all birds. I have seen a swarm of crows feast on the grubs in my front lawn. Needless to say, I did not have much of a front lawn after the crow banquet.
I also have had a crow stalk me during my early morning runs. There I was, enjoying a peaceful jaunt through the streets of Sacramento, when all of a sudden I heard the loud “caw” of a crow. I looked above me and spotted a huge black winged bird in the tree overhead. I remembered thinking, “What does he want?” and continued on my way. To my surprise, the black flying pest swoopped along to a tree just ahead of me and let out another “caw.” I quickened my pace to be rid of it, but this bully of a crow kept following me from tree to tree, announcing my every step. Finally, after about a mile, I think the crow was tired of me, as he finally flew off –probably to bug some other poor jogger.
If the crow is misunderstood, please tell my how that is so. I, for one, am convince that they are here on this earth as bullies of the sky. Why on earth were scarecrows invented?

  2. You should like crows. They eat worms and worms eat plants. Do you want the worms to eat your plants? Plus they are intelligent. They can count to 3 or 4. Crows are helpful and smart. I think you should like crows.

  3. Thank you, Shivanjali, for your insight. I do appreciate the fact that crows CAN protect my plants. However, when eating the invasive worms, crows tend to also lunch on the plant! Not too smart and not too helpful!!!

  4. Crows are smart, but sometimes they can be a pest. They could eat your vegtables. If I did not like vegatables that might be okay.

  5. Crows probably eat weeds. Weeds can cause plants to not grow. Did you know that crows use tools to eat foods?

  6. I have a story about crows. One day while my mom was walking to her next class at school she was just staring at a crow. Then all of a sudden it flew away so my mom went along but she thought it had left but yet it was on her shoulder. When my mom noticed it she screamed louder than the school bell. It was the most funniest thinng I have ever saw. Well I have to go I’ll tell all the people Ii can about your blog because it seems interesting.
