Drugs and Alchohol

1) The average age of first experiment with drugs is 13.

2) Alchohol and other drugs contribute to over 50 percent of all suicides and 50 percent of all violent crimes.

3) Over 60 percent of admissions to emergency rooms are either directly or indirectly due to drugs or alchohol usage.

4) Over 50 percent of all traffic accidents involve drug or alchohol usage.

5) Alchohol and drugs are treatable.

6) More than 60 percent of all college women who have contracted sexually transmitted diseases.

7) 28 percent of all college dropouts are alchohol users.

8) Between 1986 and 1996, driving while intoxicated was highest ofr 21 yr olds.

9) 95 percent of all college campus violence is alchohol related.

10) More than 40 percent of all college students with academic problems are alchohol users.
