Greetings! I hope that all of you will have a wonderful break with your children and that you get to spend some quality time with them before we start back on Monday, August 19th. School supplies will be on sale once the year round schools begin in July, so I thought I’d send out the supply list for this year. A hard copy will be sent in your child’s report card envelope from Mrs. Stovall, so hopefully you’ll be able to purchase the necessary supplies.
Your child should bring the following supplies to school each day:
* a sturdy 1 to 1 1/2 inch binder (no larger)
*5 subject dividers labeled with the following: math, reading, writing/language, science, social studies
*binder paper (supply to be kept both in their binder and at home – they do not need to bring the whole package in their binder)
* three 1-subject college ruled spiral notebooks (see photo below) — one for math (blue), one for language arts (red), and one for science/social studies (yellow). You can find them at Walmart, Target, Staples, or Office Depot for less than $1.00. Please make sure that they are labeled with their names and the subject.
*Crayola twistables (label with their name – please do not send a pack larger than 18)
*colored markers (label with their name)
*black sharpie pen
*dry-erase markers (not yellow)
*post-it notes (regular size, but the small ones are great too)
*4 stretchy book covers (or students can bring books home and put on the basic grocery sack book covers which work just as well)
*Ear buds or small head phones (to be used in class with Chromebooks)
If your child insists on getting a pencil box, it must be able to fit inside their desk. With the Wonders reading & new social studies programs, there is not much room left in their desk for other items. I would recommend a pencil pouch. I hope this helps your child get a head start on an exciting new school year. I look forward to meeting them on the first day of school which is Monday, August 19th. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at anicolas@egusd.net. I’ll be checking my email periodically.
I hope that all of you enjoy your summer and I can’t wait to meet all of you.
