code.org

Our very first day of logging on to code.org.  We learned how to get Angry Bird to eat a green pig.  We actually had to write the computer code to get the characters to move!  Please ask your student to tell you more!  Tomorrow we will continue to explore the world of code writing.    I am finding that students are quickly learning how to drag and drop, think logically about specific movements, focus on a bird’s eye view- so which way is left and which way is right??IMG_4682IMG_4683

If you would like to try coding simply log onto code.org and sign in.   I attended an all day workshop so that I could get my class signed up to participate.  We all have login icons and I can monitor student progress.  We started with Course 2.  Each student progresses at his/her own pace through programmed learning.  It’s an interesting way to get students engaged both with a computer and with their minds.
