Please note: Activites and dates are subject to change based upon students needs.

Day One: April 20

Day One will be a bit different than the rest of the instructional period.  In our regular classroom, students were expected to learn the expectations of the classroom before we started our academics.

In our digital learning classroom, on Day One students will complete tasks using the variety of digital tools they will be using during this five-week period.  Students will be introduced to the variety of  tools and prepare them for their learning.

Week 1: April 20 - April 24

Reading: Students will read informational texts and answer questions about the texts they read.

Writing: Students will write in their digital writing journal.  In this journal, they are expected to complete five different writing prompts. Each prompt will ask them to respond creatively.

Math: Students will complete a number system project that will connect the sixth-grade math standards to the real world.

Social Studies: Students will learn about Ancient India.

Science: Students will learn about their impact on the Earth’s environments: the air, the land and the water.

PE: Students will release their energy in positive and constructive ways.

English Language Development: English Language Learners will build thier listening skills and identify parts of speech and understand conversational English.

Week 2: April 27 - May 1

Reading: Students will read informational texts and answer questions about the texts they read.

Writing: Students will write in their digital writing journal.  In this journal, they are expected to complete five different writing prompts. Each prompt will ask them to respond creatively.

Math: Students will complete a number system project that will connect the sixth-grade math standards to the real world.

Social Studies: Students will learn about Ancient India.

Science: Students will work on an oceanography project.

PE: Students will release their energy in positive and constructive ways.

English Language Development: English Language Learners will learn conversational phrases and how to use them in everyday situations.

Week 3: May 4 - May 8

Reading: Students will read informational texts and answer questions about the texts they read.

Writing: Students will write in their digital writing journal.  In this journal, they are expected to complete five different writing prompts. Each prompt will ask them to respond creatively.

Math: Students will complete a number system project that will connect the sixth-grade math standards to the real world.

Social Studies: Students will learn about Ancient India.

Science: Students will work on an oceanography project.

PE: Students will release their energy in positive and constructive ways.

English Language Development: English Language Learners will build reading comprehension skills and strategies.

Week 4: May 11 - May 15

Reading: Students will read informational texts and answer questions about the texts they read.

Writing: Students will write in their digital writing journal.  In this journal, they are expected to complete five different writing prompts. Each prompt will ask them to respond creatively.

Math: Students will complete a number system project that will connect the sixth-grade math standards to the real world.

Social Studies: Students will learn about Ancient India.

Science: Students will work on an oceanography project.

PE: Students will release their energy in positive and constructive ways.

English Language Development: English Language Learners will read leveled texts and practice reading comprehension.

Week 5: May 18 - May 22

Reading: Students will read informational texts and answer questions about the texts they read.

Writing: Students will write in their digital writing journal.  In this journal, they are expected to complete five different writing prompts. Each prompt will ask them to respond creatively.

Math: Students will complete a number system project that will connect the sixth-grade math standards to the real world.

Social Studies: Students will learn about Ancient India.

Science: Students will work on an oceanography project.

PE: Students will release their energy in positive and constructive ways.

English Language Development: English Language Learners will build their skills with noun and verb agreement.
