Photogram – Jacob Meddings

1.  What is a photogram?

A photogram is a picture produced with photographic materials, such as light-sensitive paper, but without a camera.

2. How is a photogram made?

A photogram is made by placing objects directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive photographic paper, then you expose the picture to light in a darkroom. The paper is then developed by using light-sensitive chemicals in the darkroom.

3. Find an artist that creates photograms. What is their name?  What type of photograms do they make? Place 3 samples of their photograms.

Artist Ethan Jantzer creates photograms and takes it back to its routes. The photograms he makes are ones with color by using Gatorade and Windex to get the colors.Tall grass on red background, photogram by Ethan JantzerGoldfish photogram by Ethan JantzerClover on red background photogram by Ethan Jantzer

5. What ideas do you have for the photograms you are going to make? Explain here. (you will be making these in our upcoming unit.

One idea I have is to put a clear thing on it and have that look like how the glass looks.

The second idea is to have a medium sized object be placed by a few skinny objects.

Third is the I will have a object will a few cutouts be in the photogram and try to see if it comes out perfectly.
