Constitution Day – Sept. 17, 2021

We the people can make history.

Elk Grove Unified recognizes today, September 17, 2021, as #ConstitutionDay.  This day commemorates the September 17, 1787 formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution.  Visit the National Constitution Center website to learn how to bring constitutional education to your students through storytelling and habits of civil dialogue and reflection: https://constitutioncenter.org/learn

National Hispanic Heritage Month

Elk Grove Unified School District proudly recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, 2021). Our EGUSD family celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.  Similar to other states, in California alone, Latinos make up the largest ethnic group, so there are plenty of reasons and ways to celebrate.

Learn more about National Hispanic Heritage Month here: https://hispanicheritagemonth.gov/

Elk Grove Unified recognizes the month of September as National Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide is a major cause of death among youth and should be taken seriously.

EGUSD has school counselors, psychologists and mental health therapists available at our schools. If you or anyone you know needs help, please use our counselors, psychologists, and mental health therapists as resources, in addition to the information provided on the EGUSD Prevention webpage: http://www.egusd.net/students-families/wellness/prevention/

Community Letter in regards to Face Mask Wearing

As of June 15, 2021, students at school no longer are required to wear masks while outdoors. We encourage each family to discuss and decide what is best for your children. Students will still need to wear masks indoors.  At this time, this new guidance only pertains to youth.  School staff will continue to wear masks indoors and out.    June 17, 2021 Community Letter
