I chose bullying as my social issue poster because it is something that should be addressed. Did you know that over 3.2 million students are being bullied each year and 1 in 4 teachers address and intervene 4% of the time. About 160,000 teenagers skip school because of it and suicide has resulted from it. 56% of students have witnessed some type of bullying and didn’t do anything. And 67% of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is ineffective. I want to send a message that bullying is not okay and that we should start taking action. Our school’s campaign is to stop bullying and try to make a change in today’s society and #bethechange.
