The Looking Glass Wars – Frank Beddor

Have any of you guys heard of Alice in Wonderland? Alice goes into Wonderland and has a magical journey. But not in this book! This book tells the real story of Alice (actually called Alyss), who goes into the real world when chased by her malicious aunt, Redd. Anyways, in the real world Alyss meets Lewis Carrol the writer of the book, Alice in Wonderland. She tells him her story of how she is a princess and her mother and father were killed by her aunt Redd. But he mixes the story up! He changed it into the book we read today. Back to Alyss, Alyss has to find a way back to Wonderland in order to claim her rightful place as The Queen of Hearts. I think that this book would appeal for both boys and girls and i would rate it a 9/10.

  1. The Looking Glass Wars is the true story of Alice in wonderland. Aliyss Heart is the true heir to the throne. On her 7th birthday Alyss’ father is returnig from wonderland after signing a peace treaty, on his way home he meets his sister in-law , the murderous Redd, and Redd kills him. While eating her dinner with her mom Dodge, her best friend who is 3 years older than her and son of the royal guard, and her long to be husband Jack of Diamonds when suddenly Redd bursts in and everyone takes immediate action. Everyone dies exept for Dodge, Hatter the queens protector, and Alyss, who escape using a portal. Then Hatter and Alyss escape through the pool of tears ,where it is said that no one will return, in an escape. Then they end up in London France where Alyss joins some orphans. One day a family decides to adopt Alice, yes they changed her name. When Alice turns twenty she is about to marry prince Leopold, when people take her back to wonderland to defeat Redd. During all this a war is going on in wonderland with the remaining sodiers and townsfolk. The name of this book is called the looking glass wars because before you become a Queen you must go through the looking glass maze to reach your full imaginations power. Redd didn’t have to do this because no one else could’ve taken the throne when Alyss was gone. I think this book would appeal to boys than girls because it is very discripitive to the wars.Garrett you forgot to put in that war that was going on with Redd, but still 9/10
