This book is about a young sixth grader named, Griffin and his friend, Ben. Griffin and Ben plan to go to a sleepover at a haunted house, but everything changes when Griffin finds a Babe Ruth baseball card. Griffin assumed that it was fake, so he went to Palomino’s Emporium to see how much it was really worth. When the Assistant Manager (a.k.a Swindle) said that it was fake and worth about $120 Griffin, sold it to him. After that, Griffin went home and found out that the baseball card was worth about $1 million dollars!! Griffin made a plan to steal back the baseball card, but with an alarm system and a mean guard dog Griffin had to assemble a team to get the card back. Will Griffin ever get it card back? Will he even assemble a team, or will the police catch him? If you want to know, read this OUTSTANDING book “Swindle.” I think this book will appeal to boys and girls. I also think that this book is for grades levels, 4th grade through 6th grade. I loved this book because it is a mystery and it never got boring. I loved this book so much that I finished it over the weekend. I feel like that the author, Gordon Korman, is a very descriptive writer. I loved this book and I know you will too.
