This is a story about a 17-year-old boy named Helmuth. Who has been sent to prison for trying to expose the truth of Hitler. This book starts with a Tuesday and a mental picture of a horrible jail. The special thing about Tuesday is that’s the day the executioner works. In Helmuth’s cell is Helmuth shivering hoping he can live through this day too. Luckily, he gets through the morning. Through the book Helmuth has flash backs of when he was a kid. Some of them were happy and others were sad. What will happen? Will Helmuth make it through the whole day? You have to read this book to find out. I thought this book was ok because to me it was somewhat sad and a little sad. It would appeal to boys and girls but I thought it was just ok.
