The Doll People-Ann M Martin

The Doll People, by Ann M. Martin, is about the Doll family and their secret: They are alive. The Doll family is made up of seven members: Mama Doll, Papa Doll, Uncle Doll, Annabelle Doll, Bobby Doll, and Nanny. There were once eight members, when Auntie Sarah was there. But one tragic day, she disappeared. Now Annabelle is trying to locate her, along with her friend Tiffany. Together, they for SELMP. (Society of the Exploration and Location of Missing Persons.) With the help of Tiffany, Uncle Doll, and Auntie Sarah’s journal, SELMP might find Auntie Sarah. There is only one glitch. No one in the human world knows that dolls are alive. When Annabelle was first made, she had to take the Doll Code Of Honor, which was an oath that living dolls had to live by. If a human saw them moving, or thought they saw them moving, the dolls were put in Doll State. Or if they did something that really endangered the doll’s secret life, then they could wind up in Permanent Doll State, in which they became an ordinary doll forever. Does Annabelle find Auntie Sarah? Can she protect the secret life of dolls? To find out, read The Doll People.

I recommend this book for girls, because it is mostly about a girl. There is some boys, so boys may like it too.
