Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life-Wendy Mass

First of all I want to thank Emily and Tanner for encouraging me to read this book and now for the blog. This story is about a 12 11/12 year old boy named Jeremy who lost his father in a car accident, and a girl named Lizzy Muldould whose mother abandoned her. Jeremy and Lizzy’s life changes from stealing comic books to going across town in search of keys, when Jeremy gets an unexpected present from his dad for him to open when he is thirteen. The present is a box with a lock, but unlike most boxes that come with a lock and a key this one has 4 locks and no keys! So Jeremy and Lizzy both go looking for the keys all over town. Will they find the keys before Jeremy’s birthday? What is in the box? Well to find out you have to read this book. I think this book would be good for girls and boys. Enjoy!

  1. I loved this book. In Garrett’s blog he left out that Jeremy collects mutant candies, like a Starburst that is yellow on the top an orange on the bottom, Jeremy loves peanut butter, and his mom is trying to make him eat a different food each week. He also left out that Lizzy collects cards that she finds. Jeremy also lives by his dad’s motto,”Life is short so eat dessert first.” and is also interested in time travel. Garrett is right when he says that this book is good for boys and girls. Enjoy!

  2. I too read this book. I think that something that they both left out is that they have to do community service for breaking into a private building. For their community service they help an old man deliver objects to the rightfully owners. Each item they deliver gives them a clue about where the keys are.
I REALLY loved this book!!! I would say that boys and girls would like it equally.

  3. Great blog Garrett!! This was truly a fantastic book.
Yes this was a great book. But my favorite part was definitely that Jeremy Fink ONLY eats peaunut butter sandwhiches! And Lizzy has been collecting a whole set of cards. All fifty two of them. Also, Jeremy named a couch Bongo. Isn’t that lovely? And Maranda said that each iten they deliver, they recieve a clue. They ask each person they deliver to what the meaning of life is. I love what the people said. For example, a scientist said that we must find out why we’re here before we find out the meaning of life. So, the scientist tells them that “We’re here because we’re here.” Don’t know what that means? Your whole point of view will change after you read this book. My favorite part was at the ending. Somehow, everything swirls together. Enjoy this book! ^^
