You don't know Me – David Klass

John is in a world where nobody understands him. He’s named after a toilet and his mother’s boyfriend always beats him and his dog when she’s not around. At school, John’s friend, who’s really not a friend, Billy Beezer is in love with the same girl, Gloria Hallelujah. A war for love begins between them when Billy gets arrested and John asks Gloria out on a date. After this date, John realizes that Gloria doesn’t understand him at all. She doesn’t know anything about him. And neither does his friends and his own mother. Waking up one evening to find himself working for his mother’s boyfriend, John realizes himself, that he is all alone. Why is love so important? How can he, himself, get to know anyone if they don’t know a thing at all about him? And how can anyone understand the life that John now suffers, how can anyone know him? This confusing, yet adorable book is a book for teenage kids who are outsiders. You Don’t Know Me should be recommended to kids around Jr. High age, but if you’re younger and this book perks your taste, give it a go. John’s personality is so blank that it’s interesting. I love that he knows what things are in his life, yet he doesn’t know anyone in it(nor does anyone know him).
Please Enjoy!
