Now Steven’s life is turned upside down when he has to deal with his brother’s illness, keep the family in one piece, has home work to do, and has to practice his drums. So if you want to find out what will happen with his little brother and if Steven’s life will ever be normal again, you will have to read this book. It’s easy to read and a sad book. It will appeal to both girls and boys.

  1. This is a sad and exciting book about the life of a teenager named Steven. This book starts when there is Steven and his little brother Jeffery who is so annoying and is 5 years old. Steven has a crush on a girl named Renee who is in his class. Then there is a day that changed Steven’s life forever let me explain this day. It started when Jeffery was on the high stool sitting and wanted oatmeal so Steven Was making it. When Steven turned around to the sink, Jeffery fell off. Then his nose kept bleeding and bleeding, the ‘rents (parents) came down and blamed it on Steven. So then their mom took Jeffery to the hospital and Steven went to school. When he came home he found out that his brother had leukemia. Then Steven’s mom told him that Jeffery and her would have to go to Philadelphia because the best children’s hospital was there and they weren’t positive that Jeffery had Leukemia. So when they went to Steven was alone with his dad. Well many things changed: Steven was failing math and other subjects besides music. And well when Jeffery and his mom came home that had to leave again in a while. Then Steven’s family started to run out of money. What will they do? You will have to fin out by reading this book. ENJOY!!!

  2. In this depressing but motivating book, Steven, an eighth grader deals with normal life. He plays the drums in All-Star Jazz Band and deals with his annoying five year old brother. The day that changed his future forever is the day when his little brother, Jeffrey, wanted a simple breakfast of oatmeal. Steven let his little brother sit on the stools while he made oatmeal even though his mom specifically told him to never put Jeffrey on the stools without full attention. While he was making oatmeal, Jeffrey fell off the stool and had a nosebleed. It does not sound like a big deal but, a ton of blood came gushing out Jeffrey’s nose. It was so bad, Jeffrey’s mom had to drive him to the emergency room. The doctors announced that Jeffrey has leukemia because too much blood was let out of his body. His mom and Jeffrey went to Philadelphia to see a better doctor. Jeffrey’s medical bills are extremely high so the family has to cut down on what they spend.
Steven has a crush on Renee, the hottest and most popular girl in the whole eighth grade. When Steven falls down on his grades, Renee and Anette, his best friend, offers to tutor him. Steven is so psyched that Renee is tutoring him but, he doesn’t really care that Anette is. In drums, there is an end of the year concert that Steven can play the lead congos in!!

His brother is sick, his family’s money is short, and he’s wrapped up in the end of the year Concert. Renee and Anette have an idea that raises money at the Concert for his family but, will it turn into a disaster?
I really enjoyed this book. It was fun and exciting too! I really hope everyone can have a chance to read it!

  3. I also read this book. It is amazing and written and a wonderful way. Out of these three blogs you pretty much get the outline of the story. One part I would like to add is that Steven has to find a way the practice his drums, deal with his dad “ignoring” him, and hope that Jeffery will get better. You probably want to know what “dangerous pie” is. All I have to say is READ THE BOOK!!!
