Wolf-Speaker is the 2nd book of The Immortals series by Tamora Pierce and I recommend this book to kids of all age, boy and girl. As you know, Daine is the main character and in this book, she journeys to the Dunlath Valley with Numair, her teacher, and two wolves, Fleetfoot and Russet. The chief leader, Brokefang, and the rest of the Long Lake pack have suffered because people of Dunlath Valley and many ogres are chopping down trees, polluting the lakes, and destroying the land. They gave Daine a mission to stop the destruction, but Daine is only fourteen years old. She is still training her wild magic and is learning fast. Daine has made many animal friends, yet is she strong enough to risk letting them fight against immortals? The soon-to-be-queen, Yolane, is very self-centered and is planning something evil that might destroy every living creature in Dunlath. Tristan, Numair’s unfaithful friend, is on this plan and is also trying to kill Daine and Numair. Will their plan work? Will Daine risk the animals’ lives (including hers) to save the life of Dunlath? Well you’re going to have to find out by reading this fascinating book!
