This story is told by Dorinda Rogers. It is the eleventh book in the series. This story is about Dorinda getting a new foster sister. Her name is Gaye, and is always frowning. She was on the news. Gaye doesn’t like it in a foster home. Who would? Whenever a new one comes, they treat them special so they feel like they belong. It wasn’t that easy with Gaye. When they give her a cookie, she doesn’t eat it. They do everything for her, and she doesn’t respond. It was a lot easier with Dorinda’s foster sister, Twinkie, (Rita) than it is with Gaye. Soon enough Dorinda gets Gaye to speak. What does she say? How long is she going to hate living there? How long will she live there? Read this story to figure it out. This book appeals to girls more than boys because it is about two girls trying to figure each other out.
