This book is about a samurai boy named Seikei who is trying to find out why the geishas of Japan are being killed one by one. His father, Judge Ooka, travels with him to Yoshiwara to find out. Seikei works as an attendant in a teahouse to find clues about this mystery. During a party in the teahouse, a bearded samurai named Fukushu gives a geisha a silk kimono that Seikei had heard of before. Seikei had a bad feeling about Fukushu. Will Seikei find the murderer? Is Fukushu the murderer? Read this good book to find out. The Demon in the Teahouse is recommended to those who like mystery stories.

I have also read The Demon in the Teahouse by Dorothy and Thomas Hoobler. Enoch didn’t put much in his summary, so in mine, I am going to try to stretch it out.
Siekei, the young trainee samurai, returns with Judge Ooka to solve a very mysterious mystery. They travel to a town called Yoshiwara meaning “city on the water”. There, they find out that there has been a string of fires. They start to uncover the truth behind the fires… but then, something else pops up. A young girl, a teahouse attendant, has just been murdered by what is believed to be, a demon. Now, Yoshiwara is famous for having demons lurking the surrounding streets… it isn’t pleasant for anyone. So, Judge Ooka and Siekei believe that the killings and the fires are related in some way. To continue the quest to uncover the truth, Siekei decides to go undercover as a teahouse attendant. While he is working, he comes across a beautiful geisha, Umae. Umae is believed to be cursed. Whoever receives something from Umae shall be killed by the demon. Let me tell you, this is horrible, because in the story, a girl named Nui wants to become Umae’s apprentice. Oh, and to make matters worse… a “samurai” named Fukushu which means “revenge”, is believed to be the demon, and he wants revenge from Umae. What happens to Umae? What happens to Nui? Do they find out who commited the killings and the fires? To find out all these intriguing questions, you MUST MUST MUST read The Demon in the Teahouse.

I also read The Demon in the Teahouse by Dorothy and Thomas Hoobler. This is the sequel to The Ghost In Takaido Inn and the prequel to In Darkness Death. I also read the other two. Cynthia and Enoch summarized the whole book so, I’ll just summarize their summary and give my details:
Well, 14 year-old Seikei is a boy who is training to be a samurai with Bunzo, one of Judge Ooka’s assistants. When mysterious fires start happening, Seikei and Judge Ooka, travel to a town called Yoshiwara, where demons are everywhere. At the same time, Seikei is pretending to be a boy who lost his parents and is working at a teahouse as a servant. He is pretending because he is to find information about murdered geishas AND unexpected fires. While he is working, he meets the most famous Geisha in Edo, Umae. He also meets a young beautiful girl named Nui who wants to be Umae’s little sister and become a geisha in Umae’s footsteps. Since Umae is cursed, Seikei is afraid that Nui will die like other people who have followed Umae! Also, a person named Fukushu is said to be a demon and wants revenge from Umae. Fukushu gives presents to Umae that haunts her…..Seikei is trying to solve multiple mysteries at once and he is forced to solve one before the other. After he finishes one mystery with Judge Ooka, will it be too late to solve the other?????
